Finland Residence Programs

Residence permit in Finland through the registration of a startup

Jannat Immigration offers a full range of services for obtaining a residence permit in Finland through the registration of a startup. Since April 1, 2018, there is an immigration program for obtaining a residence permit for startup entrepreneurs in the country.

This procedure is for entrepreneurs in the field of innovative technology who implement new promising solutions. At least two business persons who plan to launch a start-up company in Finland can participate in the program. For this purpose they need to submit a company development plan to the state organization Business Finland and get approval.

Temporary residence status in Finland is granted for 2 years with the right of further extension. Having resided in Finland for 5 years, a foreigner with a Finnish residence permit can apply for citizenship.

Benefits of the program:

  • Granting residence status to spouse and minor children.
  • Visa-free travel within the EU and Schengen area.
  • Right to be employed in the country without additional permits.
  • No investment requirements.
  • Resident status on the basis of a business project, not an operating company.
  • The right to renew a residence permit an unlimited number of times.
  • No restrictions on the size of share capital and quotas for employees.
  • Ability to apply for citizenship after 5 years of residence in the country.
  • No requirement to know the state language.

Procedure details:

The process of applying for a Finnish residence permit consists of two steps. The first is applying to the state organization Business Finland for the approval of the business plan. The second step is the submission of documents to the Finnish Immigration Service to obtain the status of a resident.
